Disney Infinity Power Discs Series 2 Complete Set
Power Discs can be placed on the Disney Infinity Base in order to give a Figure additional Abilities and upgrades, or to place certain toys or customizations in the Toy Box.
Power discs come in two types: Circular Power Discs and Hexagonal Power Discs.
- Circular discs go under a figure to provide stat boosts to your character, change their costume, summon another character to fight with your character, or trigger an event that will deal damage to enemies.
- Hexagonal discs are placed on the hexagonal spot at the back of the base, where a Play Set piece would normally go, and provide either texture customizations (Skydomes and Texture Sets) or new toys for your Toy Box.
The discs of Disney Infinity 1.0 and Disney Infinity 2.0 are sold in blind packs of two discs each, sold for $4.99 a pack. In one pack, you can receive two hexagonal discs, two circular discs, or one of each. This is changed in Disney Infinity 3.0, where the power discs are sold in themed packs of four discs each for $9.99 per pack.
For Disney Infinity 1.0, Toys "R" Us sold ten exclusive rare Power Discs, which were all sold in exclusive blind packs released one at a time at certain events at Toys "R" Us over the course of several months. Each of these special packs contained one exclusive power disc and one other random, nonexclusive power disc.

Disc Types
Circular Power Discs
Circular Power Discs are power discs that are placed under a figure on the Disney Infinity Base to give them special abilities. This type of disc is represented by a Red Color and a Star Symbol. An ability disc only affects/can be used by the character it is underneath on the base. If a disc is removed, so are its effects. Only two of this type of disc can be placed on the base at the same time, or the Infinity Base will not be able to read the figure. Ability discs can be used both in the Toy Box and all Play Sets in their compatible games, with the exception that Disney Original event power discs cannot enter into Marvel-themed play sets in Disney Infinity 2.0.
Ability Discs
There are currently several different kinds of Circular Power Discs, but only one type of circular disc appeared in Disney Infinity: the ability disc. An ability disc simply enhances a character's abilities in a certain way. For example, Bolt's Super Strength increases the damage inflicted by the character's attacks by 10%. Many of these discs have the exact same function, for example, Bolt's Super Strength and Ralph's Power of Destruction. If two of the same disc (or two discs with identical function) are added, the disc's individual effect is doubled. Additionally, there are certain combinations of ability discs that, when placed on the Infinity Base together, give the player a third additional ability as well, an effect known as Power Disc Alchemy. When an ability disc's effect takes place, a circle appears on the ground beneath the character using it. For most discs, the circle is clear; but for rare discs, the circle is red. No new circular power discs that only affected abilities were added to Disney Infinity 2.0 (except in the mobile version of the game), as the addition of costume change discs rendered them obsolete.
Costume Discs
In Disney Infinity 2.0, three new types of round discs were added to the game: costume discs, team-up discs, and event discs. Costume change discs possess dual function: they enhance characters' abilities in the exact same way that the ability discs from the first game do, but they are also equipped with the added bonus that they change the entire outfit and appearance of one specific character when in use. For example, Cursed Pirate Gold decreases the damage taken by any character who uses it, but it also changes Captain Jack Sparrow's appearance to his cursed form from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Team-Up Discs
Team-Up discs allow players to temporarily spawn another character to fight alongside them in battle. Characters that can be called upon via a team-up disc range from Ant-Man to Mace Windu. After use, a team-up power disc must be allowed to recharge, meaning a player must wait until the yellow power meter surrounding the disc's icon on the left side of the screen has filled up before the disc can be used again.
Event Discs
Event discs are similar to team-up discs, but rather than summoning a character, they trigger an event in the world that harms enemies. For example, Zeus' Thunderbolts triggers a thunderstorm that attacks enemies with thunder and lightning. Event discs must be recharged after use in exactly the same manner as team-up discs.
Hexagonal Power Discs
Hexagonal Power Discs are placed on the hexagonal slot at the back of the Disney Infinity Base, where a Play Set piece would normally go. Unlike Circular Power Discs, they can only be used in the Toy Box, and not in play sets or Toy Box Games. There are two types of hexagonal power discs: toy discs (which place toys in the toy box) and customization discs (which change the Terrain Themes and Skydome of the toy box). Only three hexagonal discs can be placed on the base at one time.
Toy Discs
Toy discs are hexagonal discs that summon a toy for use in the Toy Box, and are represented by an orange color and a ball at the bottom of the disc. This toy always comes in the form of a Vehicle (such as Mickey's Car), a Mount (such as Abu the Elephant), a Pack (such as Carl Fredricksen's Cane), or a Tool (such as the Dragon Firework Cannon). Removing the disc causes the toy to disappear from play. When in multiplayer mode, one toy is spawned for each player.
Customization Discs
Customization discs are hexagonal discs that change the environment of the Toy Box, and are represented by a purple color and a paintbrush at the bottom of the disc. There are two types of customization discs: Skydome discs, which change the toy box's sky, and Texture Set discs, which change the design of the Terrain and Plants in the toy box. Each skydome disc has a corresponding texture set disc, meaning that customization discs always come in pairs. However, the discs can be mixed and matched in any number of combinations. Placing a customization disc on the Disney Infinity Base will allow the player to continue to use the disc's customization for as long as the game is powered on, whether the power disc is removed or not; however, if the game is turned off and then powered back on, the discs must be placed back onto the base in order for the player to use them. (While the things that the player has already themed to the texture set will remain themed, and the skydome from the disc will remain, the player must place the disc back onto the base in order to theme more objects to the terrain theme or to reapply the skydome should it be changed.) When a texture set disc is placed on the base, it asks the player if they would like to theme the entire toy box to its theme. If the answer is no, the player still can theme objects they are placing in the toy box to its theme. If more than one customization disc is placed on the base, the game chooses one to apply at random, again giving players the option to theme the entire toy box (to the random theme) in the case of the texture set discs.
Rare Discs
Rare discs are certain power discs that are more difficult to obtain than most normal discs. Most of them are marked by the transparent orange (on hexagonal discs) or red (on round discs) color of the disc's border, which on discs of normal rarity is clear. (Some rare discs also have a "regular version", which has a clear border.) The rare discs in Disney Infinity also have a lenticular image on the center of the disc rather than the normal two-dimensional images seen on normal power discs. Often, the reason for these discs' rarity is that they are only sold in certain specific places. For example, all of the Toys "R" Us-exclusive power discs are considered rare discs, as are the two discs sold in the U.S.-exclusive Rare Power Disc Pack (Ultimate Falcon and Marvel Team-Up: Capt. Marvel). The only rare power discs that do not have the rare design are the two Aladdin customization discs, which are exclusively available in the Aladdin Toy Box Pack, making them harder to obtain than most discs, making them rare. Often, these discs are depicted with a question mark at the bottom, where the disc's identification symbol should be; however, this mark is not present on the actual disc.
Packaging
The power discs of Disney Infinity 1.0 are all sold in blind packs of two discs each. The discs' packaging is light blue in color, and includes a picture of the Disney Infinity logo and some of the game's Figures. Each of the three series of power discs in this game were sold in separate waves, which means they were packaged at different times and thus were all added to different batches of packs that were made. For this reason, each pack of discs has a red banner in the upper left-hand corner that denotes which series the pack is from (series 1, series 2, or series 3), and thus which discs the pack contains. The Toys "R" Us-exclusive packs have a very similar design, but is gold rather than light blue, and the red banner in the corner does not have a series denoted on it, but instead simply says "2 Power Discs".
In Disney Infinity 2.0, the discs were still sold in blind packs of two discs each, but the packs' design was changed. The color of the pack was changed from light blue to dark blue and white. The packs this time were divided into two classes: those containing Marvel discs and those containing Disney Originals discs. The Marvel discs had an image of most of the game's Marvel Figures and the Marvel Comics logo, while the Disney Originals discs featured an image of most of the game's Disney Originals figures and the game's "Disney Originals" logo.
In Disney Infinity 3.0, the packaging style was changed. The blind packs were done away with and replaced with transparent theme packs, each of which contains four discs originating from the same franchise. These packs are rectangular in shape, and the packaging is colored either purple for Disney packs, blue for Marvel packs, or red for Star Wars packs. They also showcase the logo of either Disney, Marvel, or Star Wars, as well as the name of the pack.
Pricing
In both Disney Infinity 1.0 and Disney Infinity 2.0, all blind power disc packs from all series, including Toys "R" Us exclusive packs[1] and the Rare Power Disc Pack,[2] were sold for $4.99 U.S.[3] [4]
In Disney Infinity 3.0, discs are sold in packages of four rather than packages of two; for this reason, the price per pack was raised to $9.99 U.S.[5] Although the price per pack was raised, the cost per Power Disc is about the same as Disney Infinity 2.0.
Disney Infinity 1.0
In all, sixty-three unique Power Disc models were released for Disney Infinity. Of these, seventeen were ability discs, twenty-six were toy discs, and the remaining twenty were customization discs. Sixteen of these were rare discs. Out of those, ten were exclusively sold at Toys "R" Us, although four of those were also sold in the Target-exclusive Series 2 power disc pack. Discs from Disney Infinity 1.0 do not show an Edition number at the top of the disc.

Toys "R" Us Exclusives
Ten of the power discs of Disney Infinity were sold exclusively to Toys "R" Us.[10] All of these discs are rare. They were sold in special gold disc packs. Each of the golden packs contained one Toys "R" Us-exclusive disc and one other random disc. In contrast to the "blind bags" that most power discs are sold in, where the identity of each disc in the package is unknown, each of these exclusive packages includes a specific Power Disc that can be identified by the UPC and product numbers on the back of the bag. For example, all Toys "R" Us-exclusive packs with the UPC number 7 12725 02398 0 on the back contain User Control and one other random disc.
Although all ten of the discs were counted as Toys "R" Us exclusives, only six of them were true exclusives for the duration of their time on the market. The other four discs (User Control, Mike's New Car, Hangin' Ten Stitch With Surfboard, and Captain Hook's Ship) were all also sold in the power disc packs of Series 2, as well as in the Target-exclusive Series 2 Power Disc Album. The versions of the Toys "R" Us-exclusive discs that were sold in Series 2 were not the rare versions of the discs (which were being sold by Toys "R" Us), but were instead non-rare versions of them. The only exception to this was Captain Hook's Ship, which only has one form (its rare form).

Disney Infinity 2.0
In Disney Infinity 2.0, power discs came in two general types: Marvel Super Heroes discs (all of the Marvel Comics-themed discs) and Disney Originals discs (all of the Disney/Pixar discs). As with the first game, they were released in three waves. The majority of the Marvel Super Heroes discs were released in Wave 1, while the majority of the Disney Originals discs were released in Wave 2. The rest were released later on, in a spread out Wave 3. All power discs from this game are marked by a red area at the top of the disc that says "2.0".
In all, ninety power discs were released for Disney Infinity 2.0. Of these, twelve were costume change discs, six were team-up discs, seven were event discs, four were ability discs, thirty-five were toy discs, and the remaining twenty-six were customization discs. Twelve of these were rare, and six others were digitally exclusive. Of the rare discs, two (The Sands of Agrabah and Jasmine's Palace View) were exclusive to the Aladdin Toy Box Pack; two others (Ultimate Falcon and Marvel Team-Up: Capt. Marvel) were only available in a special U.S.-exclusive Rare Power Disc Pack.
Wave 1 (Marvel Super Heroes)
Wave 1 of the Disney Infinity 2.0 power discs consisted of forty discs: six costume change discs, five team-up discs, three event discs, fourteen toy discs, and twelve customization discs, all of which were Marvel-themed and sold in the Marvel Super Heroes blind packs. Wave 1 was released at the launch of the game, on September 23, 2014 in North America.

Wave 3
Unlike Series 3 of Disney Infinity, Wave 3 of Disney Infinity 2.0 did not release altogether, or even in its own set of blind packs. Rather, Wave 3 was spread out over multiple releases, all with different release dates. Wave 3 included ten discs, of which four were ability discs, one was a team-up disc, one was a costume change disc, two were toy discs, and the remaining two were customization discs. Four of these discs were rare, while the other six were exclusively available on the PC, iOS and Android versions of the game. The fist six were released on January 29, 2015, at the launch of the iOS version of the game, as digital exclusives.[13] [14] [15] The Sands of Agrabah and Jasmine's Palace View were released exclusively in the Aladdin Toy Box Pack on February 3, 2015.[16] Finally, on March 24, 2015, a special power disc pack called the Rare Power Disc Pack was released exclusively in the U.S. (though it took somewhat longer to arrive at certain retailers); this pack contained Marvel Team-Up: Capt. Marvel and Ultimate Falcon, which were exclusive to the pack.[17]
Note that while the two Aladdin customization discs are not of a rare design (they have the appearance of normal power discs), they are still rare due to their exclusivity to the Aladdin Toy Box Pack.

Disney Infinity: 3.0 Edition
In Disney Infinity 3.0, the power discs were no longer be sold in blind bags as they were in the previous games; instead, they were sold in themed packs, which were no longer randomized and had all discs clearly visible to the buyer. Each of these packs is themed to a different franchise (Tomorrowland, Zootopia, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, etc.). All power discs from this game are marked by a yellow area at the top of the disc that says "3.0".
Launch
In the United States, the launch wave of the Disney Infinity 3.0 power discs consists of eight discs released in two packs (the Twilight of the Republic Power Disc Pack and the Tomorrowland Power Disc Pack). In the UK, however, the Rise Against the Empire Power Disc Pack was also released as part of this wave, meaning that the UK wave 1 consists of twelve discs and three packs.[18] In the US, this wave was released at the game's launch on August 30, 2015,[19] with the Rise Against the Empire pack arriving roughly one month later on September 29, 2015.[20] [21] In the UK, the Twilight of the Republic pack was released at launch on August 28,[22] but the other two packs did not ship to stores until September 2.[23] [18]
In addition to this, the two TRON Vehicle power discs, Light Cycle and Light Jet, which were previously digitally exclusive, were made available for all versions of the game; however, they were not power discs, and were simply made available for purchase from the game's toy store.[24]

Scrapped Power Discs
Baymax Costume Change
In Baymax's Hall of Heroes character trailer, there was a scene of him in grey armor. When John Vignocchi was asked about it on Twitter, he said that it was a special costume change disc for Baymax, which would be exclusive to the PC version of the game.[35] So far, although the lifespan of Disney Infinity 2.0 is over, it has not been released. In a May 2015 interview with Vignocchi and John Blackburn, the two seemed to deny the possibility of a physical release for the disc, saying that it would still be released digitally;[36] however, for unknown reasons, the disc was never released.
Big Hero 6 Customization Discs
On November 9, 2014, a user on Instagram posted a pair of pictures of what he supposedly found in his Disney Infinity 2.0 Hall of Super Heroes on the Xbox 360: power disc unlock slots for San Fransokyo Skies and The Sights of San Fransokyo. While these customizations do appear in the game, they are available for purchase from the toy store, not as power discs. As a result, when other users tried to make the discs appear, they could not. However, Jason from Infinity Inquirer has said that the data for the two power discs is inside the game, meaning the images are not fake. It appears that the customizations were originally meant to be power discs rather than already in the game, and probably appeared in the hall via a glitch.[37] This could have been intended to be used in a Big Hero 6 Toy Box Pack with Hiro and Baymax, though this is unconfirmed.
On episode 42 of Toy Box TV, during the "Toy Box 2.0 Edge" segment, the builder of the toy box stated that he had used the "Sights of San Fransokyo hex disc" and the "San Fransokyo Skies hex disc" to build it.[38] This indicates that prototype versions of the power discs may have been made, and may have indeed been used by the toy box's creator.
Stitch Costume Change
John Vignocchi mentioned that the team were once considering adding a costume change for Stitch that would give him his Elvis Presley costume from Lilo & Stitch. However, when the Presley estate asked for too much money for it, the team decided against it.[39]
Trivia
- At this point, there are no confirmed Disney Originals team-up discs or Marvel Super Heroes ability discs in the games.
- If more than one of the same Vehicle or Mount disc is added to the base, one vehicle or mount will appear for each power disc. If this is done in multiplayer mode, as many vehicles or mounts will appear as the number of players multiplied by the number of power discs.
- Adding two of the same Pack/Tool or customization disc does nothing.
- In Disney Infinity 2.0, if a team-up disc is used when in multiplayer mode, the summoned character will attack whichever player did not summon them.
- During demos of the games, the person handling the demo uses a special ability disc that levels up whichever character is using it to the maximum possible level and unlocks all of the abilities on their Skill Tree so that the characters can be better showcased.[40] For obvious reasons, this disc has not been released to the public.
